It is the desire of Grace Baptist Church to fulfill the Great Commission: "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 16:15 (KJV) As a result of this desire, we have a ministry that we have entitled "Operation to Every Creature" or OTEC. Every Saturday (weather permitting), we take a copies of the gospel of John and the book of Romans and distribute them to the households of Lee's Summit. We gather at 9:30 to assemble packets of John/Romans, a tract, and a brochure describing our church and upcoming events. We put those packets into a bag, which can be hung on a door handle if someone is not home. Then at 10:00 AM we go out in pairs to different neighborhoods and go door to door. We use a non-confrontational method, witnessing to those who are open to the gospel, inviting people to church, and leaving a gospel message at every house we go to. We usually are out for 1-1 1/2 hours, it is always a good time of fellowship. |
